Gene Solutions Genomics Malaysia participated in the Annual Scientific Meeting of Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology & Hepatology (MSGH), GUT 2024 conference held at Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu over the weekend, by primarily showcasing its latest technology in multi-cancer early detection (MCED), and the SPOT-MAS test.

SPOT-MAS detects and analyzes the presence of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) and methylation profiles of the 5 most common cancers today (breast, liver, lung, colon, stomach), via a simple blood draw and next-generation sequencing (NGS) with high sensitivity and specificity. As a first stage cancer screening test, SPOT-MAS complements existing cancer screening methods for a combined effective screening strategy.

Datuk Dr Raman Muthukaruppan, the Organising Chair of GUT 2024, also the President of MSGH, accompanied by Dr Sattian Kollanthavelu, the Honorary Treasurer of MSGH, visited our booth where we got to share the latest advancement on cancer screening via liquid biopsy technology. This is also acknowledged by experts attending GUT 2024, namely internal medicine specialists, gastroenterologists and hepatologists, and surgeons from the private and public sectors.
