Advances in Gynaecological Cancer Management
On 9 July 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Gene Solutions Malaysia hosted its educational symposium, “Advances in Gynaecological Cancer Management,” building on the scientific discussions presented by Gene Solutions at the 30th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy (ISPD 2026).
The symposium focused on raising awareness of current clinical challenges in endometrial cancer detection while exploring the growing role of DNA methylation as an innovative approach to supporting clinical diagnosis and informed clinical decision-making.
The event brought together a vibrant community of healthcare professionals from leading hospitals and private practice institutions, including Gynaecologic Oncologists, Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Specialists, and Medical Officers.
Key scientific highlights:
- Management of Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) in Clinic, presented by Dr. Izzni Adilah Dzulkifli (IIUM), providing clinical perspectives on the assessment and management of women presenting with AUB.
- Methylation Assays for the Detection of Endometrial Cancer, presented by Dr. Ankush Kalra (Gene Solutions Malaysia), highlighting the clinical utility of DNA methylation assays in supporting endometrial cancer detection through epiHERA® technology.
- Highlights from Gene Solutions’ scientific session at the 30th International Conference on Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy (ISPD 2026), featuring distinguished international speakers Dr. Lee Ho Sze Jacqueline (Hong Kong) and Dr. Safedin Sajo Beqaj (United States).
Their presentations underscored the growing clinical relevance of DNA methylation assays by highlighting emerging evidence alongside real-world clinical implementation, including minimally invasive endometrial cancer triage using methylation to reduce unnecessary D&C/biopsies in TVUS high-risk patients.
The discussions also highlighted how emerging DNA methylation technologies are supporting more comprehensive approaches to women’s cancer screening. Gene Solutions shared how these innovations are applied in SPOT-MAS Eva, an integrated solution that combines cervical cancer assessment and endometrial cancer triage through a single cervical swab workflow using epiHERA® technology.
