ASCO BREAKTHROUGH 2024: HIGHLIGHTING OUR TEAM’S ACHIEVEMENTS

Our team proudly participated in ASCO Breakthrough 2024, where four outstanding researchers presented their pioneering work in cancer detection and treatment. Their contributions reflect their dedication to advancing cancer care and underscore the importance of international collaboration in the fight against cancer.

🌟 Dr. Tran Le Son, Ph.D., was honored with the prestigious Conquer Cancer Merit Award for his groundbreaking work titled “Comprehensive validation of a cell-free DNA-based assay for multi-cancer detection: A Vietnamese longitudinal prospective cohort study of 9,024 participants.” This study, one of the largest of its kind in Vietnam, represents a significant step forward in the development of non-invasive cancer detection methods. Son’s research offers a promising future for early cancer detection, which is crucial for improving patient outcomes.
🌟 Van Thi Tuong Vi earned recognition with the Abstract Award (Top 40) for her insightful abstract titled “Multimodal analysis of methylation and fragmentomic profiles in plasma cell-free DNA for differentiation of benign and malignant breast tumors.” Her work explores innovative techniques for distinguishing between benign and malignant breast tumors using advanced DNA analysis, potentially leading to more accurate diagnostics and better-targeted treatments for breast cancer patients.
🌟 Nguyen Van Thien Chi, MSc, presented on the topic “A Novel Cell-Free Multi-Omics Approach For Enhancing Multi-Cancer Early Detection Background.” His research focuses on leveraging a multi-omics approach to enhance the early detection of multiple cancers, addressing one of the most critical challenges in oncology. By integrating various molecular data types, Chi’s work aims to improve the sensitivity and specificity of cancer detection assays, paving the way for earlier and more accurate diagnoses.
🌟 Doan Nhu Nhat Tan, MSc, contributed with his presentation on “Tissue of origin detection for cancer tumor using low-depth cfDNA samples through the combination of tumor-specific methylation atlas and genome-wide methylation density in graph convolutional neural networks.” Tan’s innovative approach combines cutting-edge computational techniques with molecular biology to accurately identify the tissue of origin for cancer tumors. This work holds significant promise for personalizing cancer treatment, ensuring that therapies are tailored to the specific characteristics of a patient’s tumor.

➡️ These achievements at ASCO Breakthrough 2024 not only highlight the individual excellence of Dr. Tran Le Son, Van Thi Tuong Vi, Nguyen Van Thien Chi, and Doan Nhu Nhat Tan but also underscore our collective commitment in cancer care. Their contributions are a testament to the innovative spirit and dedication driving our mission in multi-cancer early detection.
