Gene Solutions Malaysia Advances Conversations on Earlier Cancer Detection at NCCM 2026

Bridging gaps, building hope, and empowering lives. 

 

Gene Solutions Malaysia was proud to partner with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) at the National Cancer Congress Malaysia (NCCM) 2026, contributing to conversations around expanding access to earlier cancer detection across the region. 

Guided by the congress theme, “Bridging Gaps, Building Hope, Empowering Lives,” our participation was anchored in a shared vision to help shift the healthcare paradigm from late-stage diagnosis toward earlier detection and more timely intervention. 

During the NCCM 2026 Opening Ceremony, Gene Solutions Malaysia received a token of appreciation presented by His Royal Highness Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, Sultan of Perak and Royal Patron of NCSM. Mr Lim Chiun Khee, Country Director of Gene Solutions Malaysia, accepted the token on behalf of the company.

This recognition reflects the dedication of the Gene Solutions Malaysia team and reinforces our commitment to supporting clinicians, patients, and the wider healthcare ecosystem through scientific innovation, responsible adoption, and meaningful collaboration. 

Throughout the congress and the concurrent NCSM 60’s Wellness Weekend at Sunway Square, our team engaged directly with healthcare professionals, clinical experts, cancer survivors, and members of the public to champion actionable solutions for early detection.  

Key highlights included: 

  • Plenary Session: Dr. Lee Soo Xynn, Medical Science Liaison, led an impactful Plenary Session titled “Beyond One Cancer: Advancing Cancer Screening with Blood- and Swab-Based Detection,” addressing critical pathways to shift the clinical paradigm from late-stage diagnosis to timely intervention. 
  • Symposium and public talk: Dr. Nalini Devi Verusingam, Medical Science Liaison, presented an insightful Lunch Symposium on “Rethinking Cancer Screening: Are We Screening Enough?” and delivered a Public Talk on “Screening Made Simpler: New Ways to Screen for Women’s and Colorectal Cancers,” empowering both clinicians and individuals to take proactive control of health outcomes.   
  • Innovation showcase: Gene Solutions Malaysia showcased SPOT-MAS 10, our multi-cancer screening test, which has been granted U.S. FDA Breakthrough Device Designation*. The FDA grants this designation to a limited set of qualifying devices that have the potential to provide for more effective diagnosis of life-threatening or irreversibly debilitating diseases, such as cancer, than current options. This milestone highlights the potential of SPOT-MAS 10’s multi-omics approach to contribute to the earlier detection of cancer. 

 

In addition to SPOT-MAS 10, Gene Solutions Malaysia officially launched methylation-based screening solutions, including SPOT-MAS CRC for colorectal cancer screening and SPOT-MAS Eva for cervical and endometrial cancer screening and triage. Both solutions are now available at NCSM. The launch was officiated by Kolonel Bersekutu (PA) Profesor Madya Dr. Murallitharan Munisamy, Managing Director of NCSM.
