Gene Solutions Malaysia Partners with NCSM and MMA to “Break Barriers in Cancer”
Malacca, Malaysia – On October 19-20, 2024, Gene Solutions Malaysia joined the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM) and the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) for a significant roadshow in Malacca. With the theme “Breaking Barriers in Cancer: A Community Symposium,” this two-day event brought together the public and healthcare professionals (HCPs) to explore the latest insights in cancer awareness, screening, and prevention.
Day 1: Empowering the Public through Knowledge
Day one of the roadshow was dedicated to the public, where Mr Raja Iswara, Commercial Director of GS Malaysia, led a session on “Screening & Early Detection of Cancer at the Primary Care Level.” The session welcomed 20 participants, each gaining valuable knowledge on the role of early detection and the preventive steps accessible to them. Raja Iswara’s insights left attendees empowered, underscoring the importance of vigilance in health monitoring and routine screenings.
Day 2: Addressing Healthcare Challenges in Cancer Screening
The second day shifted the focus to healthcare professionals. Dr. Ahmad Rudhzaini, Medical Science Liaison at GS Malaysia, presented on “Cancer Screening & Diagnosis in the Malaysian Context: Challenges, Opportunities, and Solutions.” With 12 dedicated HCPs in attendance, Dr. Ahmad highlighted the unique challenges in cancer diagnostics across Malaysia, sparking discussions on innovative approaches and potential solutions to improve early cancer diagnosis.

Through this collaboration, Gene Solutions Malaysia, NCSM, and MMA succeeded in fostering a meaningful exchange of knowledge and strategies in the battle against cancer. Together, we reinforced the message that awareness, early detection, and shared commitment are essential to overcoming the barriers faced in cancer care today.
