Introducing SPOT-MAS in Brazil: Advancing Access to Multi-Cancer Screening Through Genomic Innovation in Latin America.

São Paulo, June 25, 2026 — Gene Solutions Brazil and Bioma Genetics announced the introduction of SPOT-MAS in Brazil during an exclusive scientific event held in São Paulo, marking an important step in expanding access to innovative multi-cancer screening technologies across Latin America.

The event welcomed more than 70 physicians, including oncologists and medical specialists from leading hospitals, cancer centers, and private practices across Brazil.

As precision medicine continues to gain momentum worldwide, healthcare providers are increasingly exploring innovative approaches that can support earlier cancer detection, more informed clinical decision-making, and improved patient outcomes.

Expanding Access to Genomic Innovation in Brazil

Opening the event, Cristiane Nezu, General Manager of Gene Solutions Brazil, presented Gene Solutions’ global footprint and highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding access to genomic innovation worldwide. She discussed Gene Solutions’ presence across multiple countries and emphasized the strategic importance of the technology transfer partnership with Bioma Genetics.

“This partnership represents an important milestone in our mission to make advanced genomic technologies more accessible across Latin America. By combining Gene Solutions’ innovation with Bioma Genetics’ local expertise, we are bringing new possibilities for cancer screening and reproductive health to physicians and patients in Brazil,” said Cristiane Nezu.

Nezu also highlighted how this partnership will support the local availability of SPOT-MAS, a blood-based multi-cancer screening test that has received U.S. FDA Breakthrough Device Designation*, and triSure NIPT in Brazil, helping make advanced genomic technologies more accessible to physicians and patients.

Reinforcing the significance of this collaboration, Dr. Rafael Malagoli, CEO of Bioma Genetics, presented the company’s capabilities, and commitment to innovation in diagnostic medicine together with Gene Solutions.

He highlighted the strategic importance of incorporating advanced genomic technologies into Bioma’s portfolio and emphasized how this partnership will strengthen the company’s offering in precision medicine with commitment to expanding access to innovative healthcare solutions and supporting the adoption of advanced genomic technologies in Brazil.

Exploring the Science Behind Multi-Cancer Screening

Building on the discussion around innovation and access, the scientific program brought together leading oncology experts to explore the latest advances in genomics, artificial intelligence, ctDNA, and multi-cancer screening technologies.

Dr. Davi Liu, Medical Oncologist at UNIFESP, presented recent advances in genomics and artificial intelligence and how these technologies are enabling the identification of cancer-associated signals through a simple blood sample. He discussed the scientific principles behind SPOT-MAS and the integration of multi-omics technologies with AI-driven analysis to support multi-cancer screening approaches.

Expanding on the clinical relevance of these innovations, Dr. Vivian Coski, Medical doctor at Oncocenter Médicos, presented “The Clinical Utility of ctDNA in Multi-Cancer Screening: Clinical Evidence & Real-World Practice”, highlighting the role of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in multi-cancer screening and the identification of cancer-associated signals in asymptomatic individuals.

Her presentation reviewed clinical evidence and real-world experience supporting the application of ctDNA-based technologies in oncology and explored how these advances may contribute to the future of cancer screening and patient care.

More than the introduction of a new technology, the event reflected a shared commitment between Gene Solutions and Bioma Genetics to advancing precision medicine and making cutting-edge genomic innovations more accessible to physicians and patients across Brazil.

As genomic technologies continue to transform healthcare, collaborations such as this will play a critical role in accelerating the adoption of precision medicine and bringing the benefits of earlier cancer detection to more communities throughout the region.

About Bioma Genetics

Bioma Genetics was created to redefine the status quo of genetics laboratories. In 2018, they pioneered gut microbiota sequencing using NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) in Brazil. Since then, they have evolved into a complete genetics and precision medicine platform, offering tests that connect prevention, diagnosis, and treatment in a single ecosystem. To learn more about Bioma Genetics, please visit  https://biomagenetics.com.br/

About SPOT-MAS

SPOT-MAS is a multi-cancer screening blood test that combines multi-omic analysis of circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA)—including genomic, epigenomic, and fragmentomic features—with advanced artificial intelligence algorithms to identify cancer-associated signals from a simple 10 mL blood sample.

The technology has been evaluated through prospective validation and real-world studies and has been presented at major international scientific congresses, including ASCO and ESMO Asia. SPOT-MAS 10 has also received U.S. FDA Breakthrough Device Designation. A positive result should be followed by physician-directed diagnostic evaluation based on the predicted tissue of origin. SPOT-MAS 10 does not replace guideline-recommended standard-of-care cancer screening tests.
