SPOT-MAS 10 Real-World Data Highlighted by ASCO Ahead of ASCO Breakthrough 2026

Gene Solutions’ SPOT-MAS 10 real-world data was highlighted by ASCO ahead of ASCO Breakthrough 2026, recognizing evidence from 84,145 asymptomatic individuals across 6 Asian countries. Dr. Dang Nguyen also received the Conquer Cancer Merit Award.
Singapore, 23 June 2026 — Gene Solutions is proud to announce that the latest real-world data on SPOT-MAS 10, its AI-powered, multi-omic blood-based test for multi-cancer early detection, has been highlighted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) in its Press Center ahead of ASCO Breakthrough 2026, taking place in Singapore from June 25–27, 2026.
The ASCO feature recognized a large-scale real-world study evaluating SPOT-MAS across 84,145 asymptomatic individuals in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore, highlighting the test’s potential role in routine clinical settings across Asia.
SPOT-MAS is designed to detect cancer-associated signals from a blood sample by analyzing circulating cell-free DNA features, including methylation and fragmentomic signatures, supported by machine-learning-based algorithms. The test is intended to support multi-cancer early detection, including cancer types that are highly relevant and have limited routine screening options.
In an interim analysis of 22,597 people with at least 12 months of follow-up at the February 2026 data cutoff, SPOT-MAS demonstrated real-world performance consistent with the earlier K-DETEK prospective validation, including encouraging specificity, sensitivity, and positive predictive value. The analysis also reported identification of cancers that traditionally lack standard screening programs in the region, including stomach, liver, and nasopharyngeal cancers.
ASCO Expert Julian Hong, MD, MS, radiation oncologist at the University of California, San Francisco, commented in the ASCO Perspective:
“Prior studies on multi-cancer early detection tests have largely focused on Western populations. This large-scale study across 6 Asian countries showed the potential for cell-free DNA for cancer screening as a part of routine clinical practice. With these tests, earlier detection for cancer more prevalent in this region may be possible.”
Gene Solutions also congratulates Dr. Dang Nguyen on receiving the Conquer Cancer Merit Award at ASCO Breakthrough 2026, recognizing the scientific merit and contribution of this important research.
This recognition by ASCO reinforces Gene Solutions’ commitment to advancing clinically meaningful innovation in early cancer detection — bringing high-quality genomic technologies closer to patients, physicians, and health systems across Asia and beyond.
Earlier this May, SPOT-MAS 10 was granted U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Breakthrough Device Designation, marking another important milestone in the development pathway of the test. Breakthrough Device Designation is not FDA approval, clearance, or marketing authorization, and SPOT-MAS 10 remains subject to future FDA review.
